1987 — Darryl Myers purchases Guidry Industries, a gas and petrochemical valve service company he’d worked for since the age of 10 (he started out sweeping floors).
1989 — Engineer Richard Janes partners with Myers. His expertise in valve production adds to the critically competitive knowledge base at M&J.
1990 — Myers and Janes (M&J) launch a valve manufacturing division — the first in Louisiana. This eliminated shipping costs and allowed the company to create the highest performing valves available.
1992 — Minden, Louisiana service shop begins operation.
1995 — Broussard, Louisiana machine shop begins operation.
1999 — M&J opens a service center in Farmington, New Mexico to provide the fastest, most reliable service to the region’s growing methane gas industry.
2002 — Gillette, Wyoming service center opens.
2005 — Corpus Christi, Texas service center opens.
2007 — Bill Purvis joins the M&J team as general manager. Purvis’ extensive hands-on knowledge of valve products and service promote additional expansion. He incorporates equipment upgrades, advanced quality control procedures and traceability policies.
2008 — M&J begins adding production capabilities at service locations nationwide. The project, once complete, cuts shipping time, reduces costs and fuels M&J’s unshakable commitment to client success.
