HOUSTON, APRIL 27, 2015-Dresser-Rand, a global supplier of rotating equipment solutions to the oil, gas, petrochemical, power, and process industries, will showcase innovative technologies designed to improve efficiency, reduce life cycle costs and meet the individual needs and requirements of oil and gas clients at the 2015 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).
Industry engineers and executives who visit booth #8235 will have the opportunity to learn more about Dresser-Rand services and technologies, including DATUM® ICS compressors, steam turbines, Envision® condition monitoring software, and gas turbines.
Compressors Suited for Offshore, Topside and Subsea Applications Dresser-Rand's DATUM® ICS compression system includes gas/liquid centrifugal separation technology incorporated on the compressor rotor to provide an efficient, compact solution to compression system design. The DATUM ICS system is designed for onshore, offshore and subsea applications.
Features of the DATUM ICS system include: the high-efficiency DATUM centrifugal compressor technology (a DATUM I compressor); Dresser-Rand's proprietary centrifugal separation technology; a high-speed, close-coupled, gas-cooled electric motor; a robust, fault-tolerant, magnetic bearing supported rotor system; dedicated unit controls; and process coolers, valves, instrumentation, and interconnecting piping-all packaged in a compact module design. Conventional drivers and oil lubricated bearings can also be used for applications that don't require an oil-free, hermetically-sealed compression train.
Also on display will be Dresser-Rand process reciprocating compressors that boast an outstanding record for performance, efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance in the most demanding upstream, midstream and downstream process applications. Available with up to 10 crank throws, as single-throw or balanced-opposed configurations, Dresser-Rand custom engineers each unit for efficiency by designing each cylinder and valve, and select other components to meet each client's specific operating requirements.
Single- and Multi-stage Steam Turbines Offer Low Maintenance and High Reliability Dresser-Rand's steam turbine product line offers generator drive solutions from 500-kWe single-stage to 100-MW multi-stage and meets the strict standards of API 611 and 612. Used for a variety of offshore floating applications, including merchant ships, FPSO, FSRU, and FLNG vessels, Dresser-Rand custom-designed steam turbine generators include a wide range of capabilities and configurations to meet a client's unique, job-specific need.
Customized steam turbine units are available with either direct-drive or geared and accommodate inlet steam conditions up to 2,000 psig and 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, with exhaust conditions from 800 pounds to condensing. Configurations can include condensing or non-condensing, single- or multi-valve, single- or double-automatic extraction, or induction mixed-pressure designs.
Dresser-Rand steam turbines are manufactured with Gimpel® valves which provide emergency shut-down and control steam turbine protection valves for the oil and gas industries, including trip, trip-throttle, and non-return valves. Gimpel trip throttle valves are the only valves manufactured with SIL-3 certification service and comply with API-612 standards.
Dresser-Rand Envision Software Provides More Control Dresser-Rand Envision condition monitoring software allows for process control and condition monitoring within a single computer platform. Using Envision software, engineers can monitor the offshore fields from a control room onshore and draw conclusions of an imbalance in the system through the data they receive. This allows them to act quickly to resolve mechanical issues and prevent mechanical failures before they occur.
The system can also be used to control turbine enclosure temperatures on the platform, vibration levels and performance evaluation of the gas turbines. Aside from the diagnostic advantages, the Envision suite prolongs the life of oil and gas machinery and reduces life cycle costs by keeping the equipment well-maintained and constantly monitored.
Services That Provide Additional Value With service and support centers strategically located throughout the world, Dresser-Rand's dedicated service center staff is ready to provide responsive, reliable support for rotating equipment. Each service center offers product-specific repair capabilities and services for turbomachinery equipment, reciprocating compressors and engines, and steam turbines.
Additionally, Dresser-Rand's Engineered Solutions group is dedicated specifically to providing upgrades, repairs and service solutions to all equipment, not only those units manufactured by Dresser-Rand.
Gas Turbines Highlight Reduced Life Cycle Costs Dresser-Rand will showcase its VECTRA® power turbine and KG 2 gas turbine for mechanical drive and power generation in the offshore and oil and gas industry. Known for its reduced life cycle costs, Dresser-Rand gas turbine generator sets are meant to match clients' electrical system characteristics and any special requirements such as motor-starting capability and voltage dip limitations. Designed to comply with site environmental conditions and any specific limitations on noise level, exhaust emissions, as well as space and weight, the Dresser-Rand gas turbine, gearbox, and generator are normally aligned on a fabricated steel base, together with auxiliary equipment, to provide an integrated unit.
